Warrants are received from the Merrimack County Superior Court, the 3 circuit courts in Merrimack County (Concord, Hooksett and Franklin), as well as other circuit courts throughout the state. The Sheriff’s Office also has its own in-house warrants which are applied for by deputies during the course of their duties. The Sheriff’s Office checks residences, places of employment and does motor vehicle enforcement to try and locate individuals with active warrants. Members of the department work closely with local departments in many different communities to help locate our wanted individuals.
The Warrants Division also handles extraditions from out of state to bring fugitives back to New Hampshire to be brought before the court. When requested, assistance is supplied to outside agencies in an effort to bring their fugitives back to the state.
